Business Coaching & HR Mentoring
What is Coaching?
Coaching is a collaborative, supportive and encouraging relationship, focused on individuals’ success. It provides structure, focus and accountability, which helps individuals accomplish more than they ever believed possible.
Carried out effectively, coaching helps individuals and businesses:-
Improve productivity, quality of work and increase skills
Confirms commitment and investment in people, which will impact both development and retention of key individuals
Provide support to those who require it – e.g. promotion to new managerial position
Increases individuals decision making and problem solving skills
Facilitates individuals achieving and owning their goals and ultimately the organisations goals and strategies
We all have a "performance gap" - a gap between where we are now and where we believe we could be. However, despite our best efforts we seldom reach our full potential while acting on our own. Seeking the highest quality advice and assistance in any sphere of your life is an expression of your positive attitude and determination to succeed. Just as top athletes use professional coaches to maintain the standards they need to routinely achieve, successful business leaders increasingly use business coaching to reach their leading performance levels. Excellence is often a matter of partnership.
Coaching is a non-critical, non-judgemental and impartial approach to guiding you towards fulfilling potential in a way that family, friends and colleagues often can't because their judgement is clouded by their own issues. Coaching helps people understand their strengths, give individuals and companies the space to decide what they really want, works with them to define a strategy, and gives them the support to take the steps on the way towards achieving it.
Usually conducted on a one to one basis, coaching is a completely confidential process, which helps people gain clarity, remove self - imposed limitations, and increases self - reliance, so that they can better leverage their strengths and help others to do the same.
Coaching helps individuals develop critical insights, bringing a new sense of purpose to their actions. It helps them see where they are, where they want to go, and how to get there. It re-energises, empowers and motivates business leaders. It's a learning process that results in positive, lasting change.
And so…. what about the bottom line?
In line with our style of being completely open and honest, this will depend entirely on what individuals and companies put on their agenda and how committed individuals have been during the coaching process. Some people may choose to work on specific business problems: they want efficiencies and process improvements; targets and a new strategy. All this is certainly possible. Others may choose to work specifically on their personal capabilities - more confidence, better communication, improved decision-making - and do so precisely because they know they will have a tangible effect on things with measurable value, such as staff retention and new business. The impact of coaching can be considerable. People emerge from coaching more focused, more motivated, more efficient, and more productive.
There is no formal requirement for Coaches to be formally qualified but rest assured that any consultants who conduct this service will be qualified in delivery and conducting effective Management Coaching and Mentoring
What is Mentoring?
"Mentoring is to support and encourage people to manage their own learning in order that they may maximise their potential, develop their skills, improve their performance and become the person they want to be." *
Mentoring is a powerful personal development and empowerment tool. It is an effective way of helping people to progress in their careers and is becoming increasing popular as its potential is realised. It is a partnership between two people (mentor and mentee) normally working in a similar field or sharing similar experiences. It is a helpful relationship based upon mutual trust and respect.
A mentor is a guide who can help the mentee to find the right direction and who can help them to develop solutions to career issues. Mentors rely upon having had similar experiences to gain an empathy with the mentee and an understanding of their issues. Mentoring provides the mentee with an opportunity to think about career options and progress.
A mentor should help the mentee to believe in themselves and boost their confidence. A mentor should ask questions and challenge, while providing guidance and encouragement. Mentoring allows the mentee to explore new ideas in confidence. It is a chance for individuals to look more closely at themselves, their issues, opportunities and what they want in life. Mentoring is about becoming more self aware and taking responsibility for future direction.
If you simply want to discuss a particular issue – feel free to contact us. We offer free consultations, so there’s absolutely no obligation until you are ready to progress further with any plans or proposals. We will also be completely honest if we believe Coaching or Mentoring is not the solution you require.
